Manzanillo del Mar is a small fishing village of about 450 residents, known for its strong focus on ecology. It was founded 50 years ago by Don Víctor Batista, a respected patriarch of Cartagena, a pioneer with major interests in the area and head of a traditional local family. Here you can appreciate a wide variety of wildlife and lush, warm, intensely green vegetation surrounding beautiful, mysterious braided waterways that twist like an endless labyrinth. It has served as a backdrop for films such as *Nostromo* and, more recently, the soap opera *Candela Así*. In Manzanillo del Mar you’ll find La Parrilla del Mar, the only restaurant in the area, where visitors can enjoy its specialties: seafood in coconut milk or grilled crab with garlic. You can also take a refreshing swim in the sea, ride horseback along its long beach, or have fun with the water sports available.
